Financial District, NEW YORK--Director of Student Events Sarah Doyal announced Jake Rienstra ('13) as the winner of the annual game of Assassins Tuesday at The King's Council. Assassins began Sept. 24 and only recently ended after Rienstra assassinated Jeremy Hinen ('15). The Council decided to award Rienstra a free ticket to Spring Formal as a prize.

As a sign of gratitude to the House Presidents for gracefully handling a difficult few weeks, Student Body President Sam Tran lead the Council in a record-short 21 minute meeting.

Doyal said the upcoming Mr. TKC Competition is shifted to this semester since the Fall Concert will now be the Spring Concert.

Doyal plans to revamp the competition this year, changing it from a male pageant to an event that promotes the core values of each House. Each contestant is required to exhibit “manly virtues” over the course of a week, having each witnessed by a female signature on his “Man Card.” (Not to be confused with Dr. Cox's “man cards.”) The competition is tentatively scheduled for the week after Thanksgiving Break.

The Council voted to add $200 the the House budgets, at the urging of Barton and Ten Boom presidents Eliza Ohman and Christina Morgan. The presidents also allotted $500 to the Houses of Lewis and Thatcher for use in the annual Red and Green Affair, which will be announced soon.

Meetings of The King's Council are open to the entire King's community – students, faculty, and staff. The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 20 at noon in the Founder's Room, in the Executive Suite on the 5th floor. Stay up to date on Council events by liking their Facebook page.
